Nurse Refresher Program

The Nurse Refresher Program is offered to individuals

1) who were once registered as a registered nurse and who have not practiced nursing for a considerable period of time (usually greater than five years)

or

2) who seek an opportunity to enhance their competency in order to meet the requirements for registration.

ARNPEI in conjunction with Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton Alberta, offers a Nurse Refresher Program which includes theory, skills lab, and a clinical component. Over 25 study modules are offered through self-paced independent study. The clinical component involves approximately 160 hours of practical experience and evaluation with an RN preceptor in an acute care agency. All requirements are generally completed within 15 months.

Refresher students are not required to hold an ARNPEI membership (practicing or non-practicing) while enrolled in the Nurse Refresher Program.

The Application Fee for the Nurse Refresher Program is approximately $3,000.
