Dear ARNPEI Members:

In January 2008, the Executive Directors of the regulatory registered nursing organizations commissioned a national Working Group for the purpose of creating a framework that would facilitate a consistent approach to the development of nursing standards across the nation.

The Executive Directors have approved the framework and it is now ready for consultation.  This broad consultation with ARNPEI members will inform the final draft of the standards document.  This new national standards document will serve as foundational / core material for all participating regulatory organizations.

The consultation meeting is planned for Wednesday May 26th from 0900 to 1200 hours.  It will be an informal gathering to obtain your feedback as to the content of the proposed 5 nursing standards.  Coffee, lunch and travel costs will be included.
